I watched this for a long time before I realized a word was being spelled out in the smoke. I suppose it’s a nice effect, but I’m more concerned with the smoky cauldron of her mouth.
When two nicely dressed beautiful women light a cigarette in this manner, they are married in certain cultures. Well, in MY culture, anyway. My happy little naughty dream culture.
I honestly think this image, with the way he’s holding that cigarette, and the way it’s flipping down her lips, is far more erotic and naughtier than if he was putting… ahem… something else in her mouth.
I see the tag on the photo says it’s from 1996. I would have guessed much earlier. This looks like some wonderful backstage photo from the early days of Motown, with this girl getting dressed up to go on stage and sing songs about how her man treats her wrong, and all the people in the audience lost in her music, and lost in thoughts of how they‘d like to be the one treating her wrong.
